A commission from the Onion in which I was to interpret a voiceover from Tig Notaro.
Today, The A.V. Club is excited to introduce a new video series, Stand Down. We’ve asked some of our favorite stand-up comedians to share a short anecdote about a memorably tough gig, which we re-create with animation.

This video could not have been more horribly timed. As I was submitting the first draft, Tig went public with her cancer diagnosis, and the Onion was considering canning the project because [SPOILER] it features Tig's death and grave. Her agent eventually gave the go-ahead.
Storyboard
I'll be the first to admit that I don't believe this video was successful. It received a lot of hate online, and I agree with most of the criticism. I really struggled to find something interesting to animate in Tig's story and asked the Onion for several meetings before settling on ambient dread as the theme. I think that my feelings can best be expressed with the following youtube comment.
